Blended Learning First Aid, CPR, AED Class

This blended learning class covers First Aid, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), and AED (automated external defibrillator) skills. The course combines a required online portion with an in-person skills session. The online portion must be fully completed before attending the in-person class.

Who should take this class

  • Workplace first responders, health and childcare providers, coaches, and anyone who wants to be prepared to respond to medical emergencies.

  • No prior certification required.

  • Course components

    1. Online portion (required)

    • Interactive modules covering: emergency scene safety, adult/child/infant CPR and choking, AED use, bleeding control, shock, burns, fractures, heat/cold-related emergencies, and medical/emergency action steps.

    • Videos, knowledge checks, and a final online assessment.

    • Estimated time: 2–3 hours.

    • Must be completed in full and passed (if an online test is included) prior to attending the in-person skills session. Bring proof of completion to class (print or digital).

    1. In-person skills session

    • Hands-on practice with manikins and AED trainers.

    • Instructor-led demonstration and guided practice for adult, child, and infant CPR, rescue breaths, chest compressions, use of barrier devices, and AED operation.

    • Instructor assessment of practical skills.

    • Opportunities for feedback and additional practice as needed.

    What to bring

    • Photo ID.

    • Proof of completion of the online portion (printed certificate or digital copy on your phone).

    • Comfortable clothing suitable for practicing CPR on the floor.

    • Any required course materials or forms provided during registration.

    Certification

    • Upon successful completion of both the online and in-person components, participants receive a certification card valid for the period specified by the issuing organization (typically two years).

    • Certifications issued are for First Aid, CPR, and AED according to the curriculum used in the class.

    Cancellation and rescheduling

    • Contact the training provider as soon as possible for cancellations or rescheduling. Policies and fees vary by provider.

    Notes

    • The online portion must be completed prior to arriving at the in-person session. Participants who have not finished the online requirements may be turned away or required to reschedule.

    • If you need accommodations for learning or physical limitations, notify the provider in advance so arrangements can be made.
